Fair and rodeo grand marshal nominations now open

Preparations for the Owyhee County Fair and Rodeo are continuing as the parade coordinator has begun the search for a grand marshal.
Donna Marose is now accepting nominations for parade grand marshal. Nominees should be people who have made significant contributions to Owyhee County and the surrounding communities.
Marose will accept nominations until Aug. 1. The parade will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14.
Nominations can be made by sending detailed information on the candidate and his or her contributions to Marose either by e-mail at m224md@yahoo.com, postal mail at P.O. Box 566, Homedale, ID 83628 or by dropping it off at Owyhee Lanes and Restaurant, 18 N. 1st St. W., in Homedale.
Parade entries should reflect the 2010 fair theme, “Owyhee County Fair and Rodeo: The best week of summer.” The parade color this year is neon.
Marose seeks entries from schools, organizations, clubs, family groups, 4-H groups, businesses and individuals.
While pre-registration is not necessary, Marose encourages folks to let her know they will plan to participate to help with organization. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 14 at Riverside Park and the Homedale High School football field.
Parade entry forms are on Page 7 of this year’s fair book.
